Detroit Lake

We just finished a week of camping.

Each year, in July, we head to Detroit Lake.

Our family gets together with Cousins, Aunts, Uncles, Grandparents etc...

This year about 80 people came camping.

The kids enjoyed water skiing, tubing and swimming.

It was a good time just gathering around the campfire.

Here are some of the "menfolk".

My #1 enjoyed getting in a little fishing.

Who could blame him with this waiting for him, he loves the outdoors.

I enjoyed getting to spend time with my niece's beautiful kids, my great nieces and nephew.

They are so much fun!

Everyone had a good time!

It is nice to be home though.

Hope you've had a good week.

Wednesday Whites

I thought for White Wednesday I'd show you a few things I picked up this past month.

The first thing is this fun Marmalade crock.

A sweet piece to hold lavender, hopefully the kitty cats won't get into it...disaster!

The next piece, which I'm really enjoying, is this great turntable.

It wasn't originally a turntable.

I believe it was the top of an old wooden keg.

I loved the whole look of the old wood and knew what I wanted to do with it.

A couple of weeks later my #1 found a turntable, which wasn't as pretty, and we married the two...and I love it.

Another little project I did was take a few old books that had some pretty ugly covers and cover them with paper.

I then printed the title of the books, with the font I liked, and placed the title behind the paper.

You can faintly see the title through the paper.

I might eventually get a fine point pen and transfer the font onto the paper cover, but not today.

Thank you for stopping by.

Rive Gauche

Thank you Amy for letting me know the name of this rose.

The rose is called "Rive Gauche"

You can go to Green Valley Floral and see the rose there.

You can also check out Amy on Facebook or Etsy to find some beautiful pictures and wonderful vintage items.
